The Salvation Army Kona Corps Community Center raised $118,000 of its $300,000 goal during the days leading up to Christmas.

The organization is recognizing The Club Fitness Center whose counter kettle raised $1,253.02 and collected 187 Christmas presents, which were given to deserving children in Kona, with an estimated value of $4,782.00. The Alii’s Motorcycle Club, competing with five other motorcycle clubs in the area, gained first place by raising $1,409.51.

The funds raised on behalf of The Salvation Army in Kona provide programs and services for people of all ages throughout the year, including tutoring, mentoring, spiritual development, youth character building programs, hot meals, food boxes and other social services.
